Excellent basic review
Written jointly by a family physician and an ENT surgeon, this book provides an excellent resource for the new provider by covering basic ENT problems. The format is simple, listing common problems seen in family practice, questions to include in the history taking and why, and excellent photographs, drawings, and algorithms to assist in understanding the pathology and making the the diagnosis. Specific information throughout the age spectrum is covered, from pediatric to geriatric considerations. A summary of points is provided, as well as a suggestion of when it is necessary to refer the patient on. Still Life in Milford: Poems
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (September, 1998)
Author: Thomas Lynch
Average review score:

Quality in a low key
Still Life in Milford is a book of poetry firmly planted in Catholic culture, firmly Midwestern, firmly small town. Yet Lynch writes poetry with universal meaning - accessible to those neither Catholic, Midwestern nor small town. Like many similar works, it plays off "Catholic guilt"; unlike some works it truly "plays" - it has a sense of humor regarding youthful understandings and preoccupations while recognizing that the youth is the basis for the adult understanding.

An especially touching piece is "The Moveen Notebook" - based on family history and the inheritence of the "home place" in Ireland. It begins: "When I first came, the old dog barked me back, / all fang and bristle and feigned attack." The strength of the poem is in it masterful use of the ordinary - but what an enjoyable "ordinary" to read.

Tingles and warm feelings, both up and down w/ this book!
Mr. Lynch delivers the goods for this relic of 20th century Roman Catholicism. Expert at poetry, life & death; Mr. Lynch took me places that I sometimes did not want to go while reading this compilation. Enjoy this over & over!

surprisingly great!
What a great book of poems. Buy it, read it to laugh and even sympathise with the writers grief. a fresh out look from a unique man.

Kids Nature Book
Published in Paperback by Williamson Publishing (July, 1989)
Authors: Susan Milord, Susan Milford, and Susan Williamson
Average review score:

Lots of Fun for elementary-age kids!
I bought this book when my daughter was in first grade and find myself using it on a regular basis. There are activity suggestions for every day of the year to help you and your kids learn more about nature, together! There are also games to play and suggestions for stories and poems to read. I find that the ideas are easily adaptable to each child and a great reference for the times when your child says "mom, I'm bored". An all-around great book for parents who want to teach their children a greater appreciation for nature and the world around them. I learned a lot, too!

Excellent classroom tool!
I referred to this book often in a Migrant Head Start Program. The kids love the activities, and so do the adults!

The creativity of each activity is amazing. They are organized on a day-by-day basis, corresponding to the different seasons. For example, in fall kids are painting with leaves, watching birds fly south, and creating projects with apples; in spring, they observe green life under the snow and plant seeds which they can tend into fall. It is the perfect book with which to cultivate a life-long love for nature in children living in a world of rapid environmental change.

Start learning today!

Delaware Trivia
Published in Paperback by Rutledge Hill Press (13 February, 2001)
Author: Phil Milford
Average review score:

It's Delaware
This book would be pretty cool. But, it is about Delaware! Come on guys, let's just face the facts: Delaware is possibly the worst state in the union. Sure, the first state and really important for chicken production, but after all, should we care that much?!? Speaking as a Maryland resident, we should just take it over.

A fascinating look at the Small Wonder that is Delaware.
I have driven through Delaware a million times and even lived there for awhile, but never knew all that Delaware had to offer. Thankfully, Mr. Milford's entertaining and well researched book provide insights into the great history and rich culture of the state. Many people look no further than Dewey or Rehoboth Beach, or perhaps just a small patch along I-95, but between DuPont, Caesar Rodney, the Chancery Court system, and the Place to be Somebody -- the state has a fullness to rival any larger neighboring states. I only hope Mr. Milford will continue compiling more books on other states that many people don't pay much attention to -- like Wisconsin and South Dakota.

More facts than a season of Jeapordies
This is a MUST HAVE! You won't believe all the wild stuff is in here. Packed from cover to cover with the most random (other than they're all about Delaware) and sometimes-obscure trivia you'll ever find in one place. Now what about Philadelphia Trivia...

The Selected Poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay (Modern Library Classics)
Published in Paperback by Modern Library (10 September, 2002)
Authors: Edna St. Vincent Millay and Nancy Milford
Average review score:

Millay--genius, Milford--idiot
Millay is one of those poets who can convey her passions succinctly. with detail, but a passionate brevity. a woman's perspective on love, friends, eternity, and humanity that can be read by any gender. The editor, however, mistakenly describes Millay's wellknown poem "Renescence" as a poem "about being buried alive". ridicuously misinterpreting Millay's theme of rebirth and reincarnation. I own this book and am happy to have the comfort of Millay's poetry.

A Good Introduction
This book is a good introduction to the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay presenting many of her most memorable poems. It is not a comprehensive presentation of her writing (for example, some of her more erotic poems are not present) but it is not meant to be. The introduction is good and provides the highlights of her life and career. I would like to have had a chronology of her life and a list of her complete works in this book. Overall, this volume satisfied my curiosity but I would want a good biography to accompany this book in order to know more about St. Vincent Millay.

I must also comment on the book itself. My copy has many pages that were cut at an angle with the result that when they were bound the text becomes the margin! The end papers were also effected so the design is set on a slight angle, the edge of which comes close to being cut off. It was unsettling for me to find this book in this condition. I did not return it because I did not care to go to the expense (considering the price of the book) of packaging the book to send back.

that i love easily and pass the time
i will review this as a subset of her collected poems. millay was extremely talented, and had a resurgence in 2001 , she has
a memorial stamp from 1981. she is one of the best poets of american literature, this will be an excellent addition to your library, and an exciting opportunity to rediscover a very talented lady often neglected , i am comparing her sonnets to
shakespeares, since they are so well done
